Just a small intention for all school children facing accountability testing this week and this month. May they reach inside and find the answers. They have the knowledge. Children should not have to be stressed out to pass a test inorder to get money for their schools from the federal government.
As the mother of 3, I'm with you on that one. I've noticed the past few years that all they focus on in school any more is how to pass the federal exams! What happened to regular learning? The schools are under such pressure to keep their accreditation; they put the teachers under pressure, and the teachers pass that pressure on to the kids! They tell the kids they MUST perform, that the future of the school depends on their grades. When I go to meetings at the school about what the kids are learning, all they talk about is preparing for the testing so the school can get its money. What a horrible system - and no one is actually learning!
