Raising teenagers, now that's a feat that I am approximating to face. How do you and your husband do it? And have you been able to incorporate your alternative leanings in raising both your flesh and blood and adopted children? BTW. Your comment on doing something productive like hanging the washing out reminds me of an alleged zen saying which states that 'before enlightenment you chop wood carry water, and after enlightenment, you chop wood carry water'. Thought it was fun.
