Use pH strips to measure the acidity.
Also as South Africa is 220V he would need the EU Filters from www.stetzerizer.eu. They would have to supply 15 female plug sockets so that convertors can be made for the South african electrical plug.
We know several people in the US sent home to die who installed Filters 5 years ago even.

Tell your dying friend to immediately buy stetzerizer electromagnetic radiation filters from www.stetzerelectric.com.
They will remove the "biologically active frequencies" (4 kHz to 100 Hz) from all of the copper electrical wiring in his house. His body will become alkaline within an hour. The cancer will dry up as it needs acid.
