The Intention Experiment

Join the largest mind over matter experiment in history

I hesitate to open my mouth here. I'm almost 58 and have had a fascination with metaphysics for years, but am just now delving into the nuts and bolts of it, if you'll excuse the clumsy metaphor. In fact, I just received my copy of "The Intention Experiment" today, but as I'm only into the book a couple of chapters, I can't yet claim I've read the book.

But, what I've read so far has made me jump to the computer to ask for feedback about something that happened to me when I was 21.

I mashed a finger causing it to swell badly and was told by the doctor that he was going to deaden my swollen finger in order to lance it by giving me a shot with a needle directly into my finger. He warned me it would hurt terribly at first, but would soon be numb within a few seconds.

When he left the room to get the syringe, I focused my concentration and was determined to 'interpret' the "pain" signal sent by nerves in my finger to my brain as "pressure".....not pain. Pressure, not pain......

As God is my witness, I felt nothing but pressure. No pain at all. The doctor and nurse were astounded that I didn't so much as twitch or make a noise. I'll admit, it felt as though my finger might explode with 'pressure', but I felt NO pain with the injection itself.

Was I....AM I on to something as far as the power of "intention"? There are not many people in Oklahoma to talk to about this.

Thanks, everyone, in advance.

John

Yes. Completely possible.

Sounds like you may have put yourself in the space similar to fire walking, which I have done.

Welcome to the group,

Hi, Cynthia. I've much to learn. I've always been fascinated with the possibilities posed by quantum physics, but the cynic in me has always had to have the science. This is it. I feel like a kid in a candy store here, so I'll try and stay quiet for a while and just learn. Thank you for the welcome.

This all excites me. It seems I've always been somewhat sensitive to things around me and I've wondered about the interconnection of all that exists suggested by quantum theory. What a great place this seems to be to learn, grow and, best of all, participate....when I feel more comfortable that I can contribute. Thank you for the words. I'm encouraged.

Hi John, fascinating experience in our dimension. How much we can do with the power of will and directed intention.
If you are much into science, it must be so exciting and "paradigm shaking" time to live in, check out Gregg Braden's and John Hagelin's works (as well as Lynne McTaggart's "The Field" goes without saying) if you haven't yet.

Love and peace to you from Mallorca

P.S. And a piece of experience to share, stay as open-minded as you can and you will be surprised to start attracting many people in Oklahoma to you who will be happy to share your quest with you, I lived it myself, I know what it means to feel lonely and not understood in the "crowd". At the end all our surrounding is just a reflection of some part of ours, what's within is without.

Thank you, Natalie.

As a combat Marine from the Viet Nam war I've had my own wild swings of emotion. I'm alone by choice, deciding not to chance pain again. I lost my mother, too, in 1982 and at the time my old trick of compartmentalizing pain came in handy and I didn't shed a tear. We were very close and I felt the loss profoundly, but no tears or grief, though.....stiff upper lip, you know.

Then, she came and comforted me while I was in the hospital in 1993 in critical condition and unconscious for eleven days following an accident. When I woke I distinctly remember asking the nurse to have my mother come back in the room, as I wanted to continue to talk with her. The nurse acted confused.

When I suddenly 'remembered' that my mother had passed on years earlier, I sobbed convulsively for what seemed like a very long time. Much was revealed to me then and it's been baby-steps since in understanding the world around me.

But, at least I'm moving in the right direction.

Thanks again for your words.

John

Yes. It was your intention to experience differently than the mass- concious expectation.
And you did! It's only the beginning for you. Enjoy your explorations!

Thank you, Lili. Ordinarily I'm one of Pavlov's dogs, but there really is a very interesting world out there, even for this old dog.

Hey, I'm an old dog, too. The learning never ends.If it does (or you choose to stop learning) is when you begin to grow old. The best recipe for youthfulness is curiosity and the joy of learning. Good luck to you. Lili

Thanks, Lili. I believe what you say is true. John

Hi, John. I believe that you are right on with it being a manifestation of your intention. You might want to check out Gregg Braden's "The Divine Matrix"-(bridging time, space, miracles, and belief). It is a fascinating and compelling book to read. I think that you will enjoy, as I am.
In Joy,
Cyndi
